DADHC Hunter Access Points Project  update
This project simplifies access to the community care system, ensuring that all eligible clients are assessed adequately using a consistent assessment methodology and electronically referred to the most appropriate service provider(s).

Currently, 190 agency outlets and over 355 staff are sending eReferrals in the Hunter area.  This month, the project achieved the milestone of over 2000 referrals sent.

As the project progresses, we are hearing interesting stories of how service providers are using eReferrals to streamline service to clients.  For example, Occupational Therapists are using the file upload facility on the form to attach CAD drawings for home modification service referrals sent via the Access Point.

For information on Access Points, please contact Access Point Help on 1300 731 556 Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

Bi-monthly ServiceLink build schedule

HSNet updates the ServiceLink software every two months.  These updates include “bug fixes” and enhancements to ServiceLink functionality.  New versions are installed in our test environment on the third Thursday of each even month and, all being well, migrated to our production environment on the second Wednesday thereafter.

The next build is scheduled for installation in our test environment on 19 June and migrated to production on 2 July.

HSNet server upgrade to a virtual environment
Over the next few weeks, HSNet will be replacing most of its servers as the current servers are at the end of their service lives.

The new servers will utilise “virtual server” technology. This will allow each of them to do the work of a number of the old servers and allow us to reduce our hardware complement without a decrease in the quality of service.

The virtual approach will provide us with greater flexibility in our technical endeavours by allowing us to create new “logical” servers quickly and easily when required at negligible cost.

Out and About: Carex Sydney Expo

HSNet thanks Carex for encouraging HSNet participation in the health and aged care expo at Rosehill Racecourse.Alison Warhurst (pictured), Zoe Petridis and Colette McCracken welcomed new members to HSNet and enjoyed meeting with existing members and service providers.  We have taken on board your suggestions and  hope to implement improvements over the coming months where possible.

 HSNet team update

Congratulations to former HSNet team member, Vanja McCarthy who on the 26th May gave birth to a baby girl, Lola.  Lola has turned her parents' lives upside down.  Day is night and night is day.  All the best to Vanja's growing family!

Alison Warhurst (above) has been appointed Senior Project Officer, filling in for Vanja while she is on maternity leave.  Alison was previously our Applications Officer looking after the technical side of the HSNet website.  She is excited to be getting out and about meeting HSNet members.  Alison is also the team captain of the HSNet Honeys in the Global Corporate Challenge, a health and fitness initiative in which HSNet is taking part. Good luck to those of you who are also participants!

 Welcomes and fond farewells

Sadly we bid farewell to the bubbly and dynamic Suzy Nour from the HSNet Support Desk.  Suzy's former workplace couldn’t do without her.

Welcome to Anna Di Donato, our new Support Desk Officer “with a smile” and Colette McCracken taking on the role of Web Content Coordinator during Charmaine Swift’s maternity leave.  Anna and Colette are Department of Commerce staff on secondment from NSW Procurement.
Both Anna and Colette are advocates of Toastmasters, a public speaking program.

We also welcome Ubaid Rana and Dr Merryl Uebel-Yan who have joined the team temporarily to assist with the continual process of sourcing and keeping up-to-date records in ServiceLink.
