Responses to the HSNet Survey - Turnaround time for addition/update to details on ServiceLink

Image

HSNet is responding to feedback from the recent survey. We have reduced the turnaround time for additions and updates to ServiceLink.

When we receive your service information, it will be updated within ten working days. You will receive an email or telephone call from the ServiceLink content maintenance team to advise that your information has been received, an an invitation to check your details in ten working days. At the end of the month we will also send a courtesy email advising that your details have been updated in ServiceLink.

If you are not a member of HSNet, and would like to check ServiceLink to see if your organisational information is included, go to http://www.hsnet.nsw.gov.au/ and click on 'Register here' link. Your details are subjected to our HSNet authorisation process, which will be completed within three working days. If we have difficulty contacting your referees, we will let you know of our progress. Once referees are verified, you will receive an email with a username and password to access HSNet. You can change your password and access online forums, resources, ServiceLink and other information once you have logged into HSNet. Please refer to factsheets register for access on HSNet website and login into HSNet for the first time for further details.

If you require further information about ServiceLink or the HSNet web site, please feel free to contact the HSNet team on (02) 9228 4200 or email hsnet@hsnet.nsw.gov.au

CMS Subsidy payments finalised by 23 March 2007

If you are one of the successful Non Government Organisations (NGOs) approved to receive the Client Management System (CMS) subsidy, you will have received a letter outlining the process for claiming your subsidy to purchase a compliant CMS.

There are six CMS vendors whose CMS have proven to be technically compliant. Four of these vendors have also signed a contract with the State Contracts Control Board (SCCB) and their systems are therefore ready for purchase as they are technically compliant and contracted to sell to you.  The remaining two vendors are still in contract negotiations with the SCCB. An updated list of Compliant CMS Vendors is available on the HSNet public web site.

You can contact the compliant CMS vendors to assess the suitability of their product for your organisation any given time. To assist with assessing and comparing systems, NCOSS has produced A Short Guide to Choosing, Costing & Implementing a Client Management System (CMS).

Once you have purchased a CMS that meets your needs from the approved vendors you must provide an invoice to NCOSS to claim your subsidy allocation.

Please note that NCOSS will be finalising the payment of invoices by
Friday 23 March 2007. Your organisation must provide an invoice to NCOSS by this date.

Improving the HSNet website
Image

We are building a better HSNet website! In response to your feedback, especially from the recent survey, we are revamping HSNet, and would like your help.

We are planning to improve searching and navigation, streamline the registration process as well as make it easier for the HSNet team to update content. No information will be lost, and you will be able to do everything you can currently, and much more.

The first step in redeveloping the website will be determining its overall structure and navigation. If you would like to contribute to the new face of HSNet, please contact the HSNet Team on (02) 9228 4200 or email hsnet@hsnet.nsw.gov.au

Accessing ServiceLink

Image

Did you know there is a new way to access ServiceLink to view your organisational details?

In response to user feedback, we have made it easier to locate and access the ServiceLink directory. A new section called 'ServiceLink' can now be found under MyHSNet Homepage. By selecting either the heading, logo or the words Search or Browse, you now have the ability to access the ServiceLink directory. Alternatively you can select ServiceLink from the HSNet menu across top of the screen.

 HSNet member audits

As part of our security processes, the HSNet team now conducts a weekly cleanup of inactive members. Members that have not logged into HSNet over a period of one year are considered to be no longer active and their user profile is deactivated. Members who have been made inactive will no longer be able to log into HSNet. To avoid being made inactive, make sure you login to HSNet on a regular basis.

Further information about membership and security, please refer to the HSNet Security and Access Policy document.

HSNet presence at Making Links Conference 2006

Image

The Making Links Conference 2006 with a focus on the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) capacity, infrastructure and community building potential for the not-for-profit sector, presented a fabulous opportunity for the HSNet team to promote the benefits of our website.

HSNet staff were able to interact with conference delegates at the display fair, supplying HSNet material, discussing benefits to organisations and registering new members.

The conference drew delegates from across
Australia, which provided the perfect opportunity to promote the Federated Service Finder (FSF) which enables NSW ServiceLink users to access Services in SA and SA Human Services Finder users to access information about NSW services. In the near future other state directories will also be available via the FSF.

The HSNet team's, Senior Project Officer, Zoe Petridis, presented a paper on 'Enabling Consumer/Carer Participation through HSNet'. This paper focussed on the interaction between workers and consumer representatives/carers, and also on consumer participation via Digital Storytelling using client stories as a means of evaluating the effectiveness of service provision.

Goodbye for now! to a member of our HSNet team and welcome to a new member at NCOSS

We bid a fond temporary farewell to Charmaine Swift, Content Co-ordinator who is leaving the team temporarily on maternity leave.

Charmaine commenced with the team two years ago . She has been involved in the creation and update of content on the HSNet website, ServiceLink and other associated material, as well as training users in how to use HSNet.

We wish Charmaine all the best during the forthcoming weeks and want to say Thank You for all of the knowledge and support provided to the project and the team.

Hasanthi Premachandra, ServiceDesk Coordinator will be undertaking the Content Co-ordinator role in Charmaine's absence.

HSNet would like to welcome Joan Gennery to the IT Strategy position at NCOSS. Joan will be providing advise and support to NGO's which received subsidies to purchase an approved CMS, and developing an overarching IT strategy for the NSW NGO human services sector.
